• Welcome to my blog!

Hey there! You've found my blog, where i post all my current work, sneak peaks of client sessions, and random personal musings!

I am a natural light portrait photographer based out of central Arkansas and I absolutely adore documenting life through my lens. I cannot describe the amount of joy it brings me to capture people. And I feel that is just what i do. I don't just take pictures.. I capture images that tell a story of who you are. I love documenting the giggles, the hugs, the squels of excitement, the wonder in a child's eyes, the mutual love and respect in a relationship, the excitement of a newly engaged couple or an expectant mommy, the pure miracle of the tiniest human beings... I love capturing it all!

If you are looking for a more non-traditional, lifestyle photographer, then I'm your girl! I like to blend my sessions with candid shots and light posing but find that candid shots with those genuine laughs and smiles are usually the gems of a session. It's fun to just sit back and let you do your thing and capture the dynamic of your relationships. Whether that's playing with favorite toys, reading books together, or just tickling and loving on eachother, I find that it captures genuine memories of the way you are with your loved ones. I do all of my shoots on the location of your choosing (don't worry I have plenty of suggestions if you need them!)

I specialize in portraiture including kids, family shoots, seniors, engagements, bridals, newborns, and maternity.

Please leave me comments and feel free to contact me if you have any questions at all! I hope you enjoy!

Engaged

Back in May (yes May!), I got the chance to capture these two love birds!  It was such a fun session – I just loved the locations we used!

Work it girl!

Pretty sure this horse has been around most of Jake’s life… and He’s pretty attached to her.  She was gorgeous!  She didn’t want to coorperate too much though, but we snagged this one before she ran off..

Old posts..

So since I moved my blog over, AND because I’m seriously behind on blogging.. I was going to try to post some of my favorites from previous posts and sessions!  I just had to start with Anne… I mean, look at this stunna!!

I just love these images!  Great session!  Many more favorites to come!

Christmas Cards

Hey guys!

So i know it’s only August, but I wanted to get you guys thinking about Christmas cards!  I’ve already had a lot of inquiries about them and wanted to post a few designs that i currently have available!  I will probably be getting a few more designs if you don’t like any of these, send me a message and we can talk about it!

Also keep in mind, the colors can be changed if you don’t like the way these are or want more traditional Christmas colors!

photographer pet peeve!

Funny Friday..

I LOVE the What The Duck series!  But this one is my all time favorite!  It makes me laugh so hard!!  And it’s true, photographers hate to hear this!  I don’t blame you though, if you’ve ever uttered the dreaded words above, I understand that you just didn’t know any better!:)  See even I used to think that the camera was the difference between the professional photographer and myself, and I see lots of photographers that think the same thing!  They think if they can just get that latest and greatest peice of equipment, they’ll “make it”.  But there is so much that goes into taking a great photograph, and it has suprisingly little to do with the camera!   No one would’ve told Picasso that his paintbrush painted really nice pictures would they?!  That would’ve been absurd!  Just like the paintbrush, the camera is only a tool that has to be told what to do by the photographer!    Even photographers who don’t know how to use their tool – who never take their professional looking camera off of the “green square” (automatic) – still have to know what makes an image interesting… how to compose the frame, find the right lighting, make your subjects feel comfortable, pose them, etc. etc. etc.!!

Okay so I didn’t mean for that to be a soap box… I just thought it was funny so I wanted to share.. and educate:)

Thankfully, it’s friday!!  I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!
